Tuesday might be my new favorite night to go out. With Dallas experiencing some of the best weather so far yet this year, it’s hard not to grab a beverage and sit outside. Three Links’ open air building plan is perfect to capitalize on this weather, and what better way than to enjoy some new indie rock from a pair of up and comers, Shannon Hayden and Lily & Madeleine.

Shannon Hayden surprised everyone when she sat down with her electric cello, her set of midi controllers (helping her loop sounds) and microphone for her set. Bringing together classical instruments and electronic elements, the long-time cellist performed a mystical set perfect for a Tuesday night. Her vocals mixed perfectly with her exquisite cello performance, even messing around with a new vocalizer she had just purchased.

Lily & Madeleine could be seen within the crowd jamming to Shannon’s set and that feeling continued as they took the stage. The two sisters switched between instruments and lead vocals as Shannon joined them playing lead guitar and cello rounding out the sound. Performing songs from their three albums, the teenage duo had voices beyond their age and had Three Links buzzing with energy even on a Tuesday.
