Bonus Fun Stuff:13 Fabulously Fun Ideas for Fantastic Free Date Nights in DFW.
Everyone needs to eat and there’s no better time than when the weekend is kicking off. If you’re going to spend money on eating out, you certainly want to know it will be worth your while! The best plan of action is to go to the longstanding eateries and bistros that have survived the rise and fall of the economy over the years. Here are a few options we picked out from the places to eat in Euless that have been here for a while.

BIRD.
We stopped in to visit Bird Restaurant a few weeks ago. The storefront is in an unassuming strip mall. We were pleasantly surprised at the substantial, juicy tenders with snappy crust, the bite of heat in the cups of elote and Mac. There’s good crunch and spice to their fried chicken (think Popeyes more than KFC, but it’s still not an equal flavor comparison). Bar seating and to-go for now, but the owner Roosevelt has high hopes for getting the word out. (Bird is the word, after all!) They focus on chicken and sides, so if you’ve got a salad-loving friend, take them to Just Ripe up the road after getting your chicken feast here.

Flavorful fried chicken and tenders recipe. Not too crunchy but no slacker either. The big tenders are the best value, but everything is reasonable. To-go only for now.

Raven’s Grille
With a spectacular view of the 18th fairway, this clubhouse dining room offers both elevated eats and a comfortable nook for getting together over brunch. Saturday and Sunday brunch from 7a until 1:30 and lunch/dinner menus starting at 11a daily. Don’t let the idea of country club exclusivity deter you—Raven’s Grille opens its arms to the community with Southern comfort food and hospitality!

Follow signs for the Texas Star Golf Clubhouse. The views of the green make for a lovely brunch. Try the Texas Coast Benedict: Heaping crab cake, poached eggs and hollandaise!
Saviano’s Italian
Saviano’s is the place to go for authentic Italian recipes! Family owned and operated since 1992. They hold to the tradition of being closed on Sunday! As is true most places, they have a more extensive menu at dinner, with just about anything your Italian taste buds desire! Quaint atmosphere! Lots of bread and pastas! Casual at lunch and a bit dressier for dinner. Good for date nights!

Ask for extra garlic on the garlic knots. Look for parking on the side if it’s packed in the front. It’s averaging 4.5 stars out of 5 with over 400 Google reviews. Whoa.
Thai Noodle Restaurant
This place gets fabulous reviews for authenticity, even though it looks like it’s in a strip mall in an industrial complex! Their website says they have one cook and one waiter—I guess good things come to those who wait! If you enjoy Thai food this is the quintessential “hole in the wall” restaurant. Might as well head out for an adventure. Be sure to let them know how much heat you can handle.

Call in to order ahead: (817) 684-0702. Curries, noodle dishes with choice of shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, Asian salad, and my go-to: Tom Yum soup.
Texan Kitchen
This Southern corner of comfort food is putting out plates of meatloaf, turkey & dressing, catfish, cabbage rolls, meatballs, plus plenty of breakfast with the fixin’s and a seasonal menu too. It would be hard to find something here you don’t like. Look for the big green Metro Self Storage sign, or you could drive right by it.

Tons of Texas-style gravy, saucy comfort food, with breakfast dishes galore. Live band on Friday nights too. Try their monte cristo w/ fries.
Dixie House Cafe
UPDATE: The Euless location is closed! Despite their website and social, the doors have been closed and the inside dark for a few weeks now. The closest open location is in Fort Worth off Hulen. The frontage road cafe with the colorful pinwheel sign started out in 1983 as Theresa’s Cafe, named after the owner—a modest building that only seated 30 people. Years of slinging serious Southern style has helped them expand to six locations and 120 employees! This is the classic Texas diner that serves breakfast and lunch plus Sunday dinner, too.

“Home of the big buns!” Every Monday & Wednesday CFC or CFS + 2 sides = $4.99. Now that’s some tasty math!
Lushaj’s Pizza & Pasta
We pronounce it “Loo-SHY’s” without really knowing if that’s right or not, and they never correct us when we go in. This location has been serving the Trinity Trojan high schoolers for over 30 years and recently the building got a facelift. The pies are New York-nostalgic—huge, chewy, saucy—but their menu is so vast, that if you aren’t in the mood for a bite of new yawk, you’ll find a stromboli, fettucine or salad you can’t live without.
