14th Annual Weekend Festival of Black Dance

Feel the electricity at the 14th Annual Weekend Festival of Black Dance, offered by The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL), which has supported, developed and performed quality artistic productions in Dallas for four decades. Kankouran West African Dance Company and Atlanta Dance Connection will share the stage as they bring African, Contemporary and Modern Dance to heart-pounding life. Friday and Saturday. SO many places are showing The UFC 221 Event on Saturday night that I’ve narrowed it down to the places that Facebook says MY friends like. Where should you watch Whittaker take on Rockhold for the World Middleweight Championship? Well, Marj likes Henderson Tap House (7pm. 232 North Henderson Avenue, Dallas). She’s a creative local musician. Dana, who’s got a very dry sense of humor, likes Austin Avenue Grill and Sports Bar (9pm. 935 W Parker Rd, Plano). Mark visited Boomer Jack’s Grill & Bar (9pm. 2300 W Airport Frwy, Bedford). Not sure if he liked it, but he did visit. And Howard, Mr. Popular, likes The Draft House Bar and Grill (8pm. 2700 E Eldorado, Little Elm). No matter where you watch, you’ll learn some new “holds” that are sure to impress your date.
