Here’s a list of pastry shops that will satisfy your sweet tooth, starting with an option that let’s you eat your cake and still be able to wear that new swimsuit you bought for summer vacay at the beach.

Reverie offers raw vegan pastries, gluten free cakes and other sweets to its patrons. That’s right, vegan! You can help yourself to these treats without immediately fleeing to the nearest treadmill. Reverie is a mix of co-owner Nancy and Racene’s love for vegan pastries and cake decorating. Everything on the menu is dairy free, egg free, and cholesterol free. Their churro cupcake is vanilla cake, baked with a cinnamon sugar topping and topped with vanilla icing. There’s even a mini churro on top! Just about all of their ingredients are organic and none of them contain artificial flavors.

Cupcakes from Sugar Ray’s Bake Shop in Plano
Butterfinger, Blackberry Lemon, Chocolate Coconut are just a few of the cupcake flavors on the menu. Sugar Ray’s also makes crepes and macarons while providing seven different cupcake flavors each day. Rachel, the shop owner, loves trying new flavors and is always open to suggestions. One of her top sellers are her sugar jars. It’s an 8 oz mason jar filled with two cupcakes, layered with frosting. If you need something to wash these sweet treats down, ask for a latte.

Zamykal Kolaches on Keller Springs
A genuine Czechoslovakian recipe passed down from one family baker to the next since 1918, Zamykal Gourmet Kolaches first opened a shop in Calvert, Texas. They sell traditional flavors we all know and love like berry and cheese, but also the Frito Pie Kolaches, Italian Meatball and Jalapeno Popper Kolaches are getting raves, too! Also featured in Texas Monthly as one of the best in Texas, this award-winning kolache recipe is worth the drive.

Tart Bakery on Lovers
So this one is not technically North Dallas but I couldn’t leave it out of the running. The cool thing about Tart Bakery is that they make french pastries, cookies, cupcakes and more. Did I mention that most of these items are made from scratch? Those who appreciate handcrafted sweets will love this place. Recently, Tart Bakery began offering European style Artisan breads like the Whole Wheat seeded Hippy Loaf filled with a variety of seeds. This bakery also sells cake stands, cute aprons, french plates/platters, candles and paper goods. Can’t make it out to the shop? Have no fear. They deliver six days a week.

Beautiful custom cakes and cookies for all your celebrations. (HINT: holiday-themed cookies). Check out the Coca-Cola cake – chocolate cake with buttermilk, Coca-Cola and marshmallows and chocolate pecan Coca-Cola frosting. And absolutely do not miss the thumbprint cookies.
