Here are a few things to do that may be perfect for the cube rat who doesn’t get out much, or if you’re new in town and want to start with something less adventurous or intense.

Visit the African American Museum
Stop by their calendar because they have quite a few exhibits and events scheduled thru 2017.

It only costs $14.99 to rent a kayak and $19.99 for a stand-up board. At these prices you may as well give it a try. If you fall in a lot, oh well, the water’s not hard, and it’s hot out anyway.

There’s a lot to do in there, so make sure that you dress for walking and comfort. You can spend an entire day at the Perot museum of nature and science.

Butterfly house in Fair Park
While this is geared towards the young ones, it can be a real treat for the kid at heart too. They do a daily butterfly release.

See the model train display at Children’s Medical Center
This is one heck of a model train display that includes the Dallas skyline. This is a surprisingly fun thing to do in Dallas. Have you seen it?
